African Wild (Painted) Dog is an endangered species. This older male in Kenya (May 2005) was quite co-operative in posing for pictures from which this painting has been produced. Note the ears and keen eyes, so necessary in a dog that has to hunt for its survival. The coat patterns are very striking but varied giving excellent camouflage properties. |
